Translating the Bible - Transforming lives
Many people in Africa still do not have access to the Bible in their own language – and cannot fully experience the life-changing power of God's Word.
My mission is to bring the Bible to life for communities in Africa who are still waiting to receive it in their heart language.
I believe that the Bible is God's Word – powerful, life-giving, and transformative. Everyone should have the chance to hear and understand it in the language that speaks to their heart. That’s why I want to come alongside people in Africa and translate the Bible with them into their own languages, so they can encounter God personally through Scripture.
My mission
I am 29 years old and passionate about people being able to read the Bible in their heart language.
Hi there, I am Sophia
From Bureaucracy to Bible Translation (Vom Amt nach Afrika) I grew up in Staufenberg (Germany) and worked there as a civil servant. But I quickly realised I didn’t belong in the office in Germany — my heart was beating for missions in Africa. So, in 2021, I moved to Cape Town to study Theology. My time in South Africa fueled my passion for cross-cultural ministry and opened my eyes to the huge need for Bible translation.
I completed my studies in South Africa in 2024 and am now preparing to return to Africa. As part of this preparation, I have joined Wycliffe Germany and am currently pursuing a Master's degree to better equip myself for long-term ministry. My goal is to build a team of people that want to make a difference with me, by sending regular financial support, prayer, and encouragement, so I can return to Afrika in 2027 to serve in Bible Translation.
